The United Arts Council is the Local Arts Agency of Collier County as designated by the Collier County Board of County Commissioners. The Council is much similar a "Bedroom of Commerce for the Arts." We serve artists and cultural organizations. We advocate for more than arts in pedagogy and more art in public places. We strive to exist the premier source of arts educational activity programs for at-risk youth and those who lack access to the arts due to historic period, inability, poverty, geographic isolation or other factors. Nosotros nurture relationships with local government officials in order to advocate for more than arts and cultural opportunities for the county population. Collier County government is currently assessing hereafter needs for arts and cultural services in response to continuing growth and development throughout the county, and the United Arts Council is participating in that process as a liaison to the local arts customs.

The United Arts Council continually seeks boosted funding for support and expansion of our arts programs. We provide arts enrichment classes for at-risk youth at more than twenty locations around the county, including all schools in Immokalee and child-serving organizations such as Grace Identify for Children and Families in Golden Gate and the Gargiulo Pedagogy Center in North Naples. Additionally, we collaborate with strategic customs partners including Collier County regime, the Urban center of Naples Public Art Commission, Naples Children & Educational activity Foundation, the YMCA of Southward Collier, Collier County Public Schools and the Marco Island Center for the Arts. We are as well currently working to secure contracts to provide arts and cultural programming for Collier County.

Our system'south core assets include staff expertise, teaching ability of our independent contractor teaching artists, a supportive board of directors, dedicated volunteers and partnerships with many local organizations.  Staff expertise: Laura Burns, Executive Director, has a fine art degree from Savannah College of Art and studied arts administration and nonprofit management at the graduate level. She has worked every bit a director of regional arts development in New Zealand, where she was also a director of the local sleeping room of commerce. She is especially well versed in arts and economic evolution issues.Janice Paine, Pedagogy Program Manager, has 20 years of feel managing arts education in multi-site after-school programs. She has organized and promoted many artist residencies, educational performances and special events in schoolhouse settings. She is a published free-lance author nearly contemporary arts and culture and holds a master'due south degree in art history. Kristen Donovan, Community Engagement Coordinator, serves as the main source of information and opportunities for our members, teaching artists and the community at large. Kristen has a bachelor's degree in studio fine art from Palm Beach Atlantic Academy. She is a talented graphic designer and social media specialist. She has created marketing material for nonprofit agencies and worked straight with at-adventure youth in Southwest Florida to educate them about human trafficking.   Didactics artists:The United Arts Council has been providing art classes to underprivileged children and to senior citizens for many years. Nosotros take a roster of approximately xx experienced teachers drawn from the local arts community who teach these at-risk populations. Nosotros provide them with continuing education opportunities and assist them in curriculum development.  Lath, volunteers and customs partnerships: The UAC's board of directors consists of patrons of the arts, arts professionals, and members of the local business community. Nosotros are assisted past volunteers who provide office assistance and help with receptions and special events. Every bit discussed elsewhere in this profile, we also maintain a broad network of relationships with external organizations. As we are the umbrella agency for the arts in Collier County, we work with other arts organizations to prevent duplication of services and to collaborate in achieving mutual goals.

The UAC's vision is to be the most recognized source for arts services and cultural information and to be the premier provider of arts teaching for at-risk students and depression-income adults. The United Arts Quango has adult successful, ongoing education programs and services to the cultural customs. Our membership numbers are increasing and, with the motion to our new offices, public participation and interest in our community engagement programs (i.e., artist talks, receptions, art workshops) is growing enthusiastically. In guild to move forward as an arrangement, the UAC needs to increase its staff in social club to pioneer new programs and services at the canton level. We need to farther heighten our fundraising chapters by seeking boosted grants and contributions from the community.
